The study aimed to the extent the availability of the main and subsidiary teaching capabilities needed for female home economics teachers at the University of Baghdad / College of Education for Girls from the teachers 'viewpoint? Research community and its sample: The current research community consisted of the home economics teachers at the University of Baghdad / College of Education for Girls for the academic year 2018-2019, whose number is (45) schools.
Home economy.
Research Tool: Questionnaire: The researcher identified the areas of teaching competencies necessary for home economics.
The paragraphs of the questionnaire were finalized and consisted of (40) items corresponding to a five-point scale consisting of alternatives (always, often, sometimes, rarely, not at all), which is appropriate for the level of the educational sample and after presenting it to experts and specialists.
To achieve validity and reliability, the researcher used many statistical methods, including the weighted mean and the Pearson correlation coefficient for data processing.
To determine the degree of availability of teaching competencies among home economics teachers, the researcher analyzed the results for each of the sub-teaching competencies as seen by the teachers in light of each of the five areas, and to separate the available sub-competencies from the unavailable, a score of (60% ) or more was adopted as a percentage weight.

Conclusions: Among the most important findings of the researcher: 1- The importance of the list of teaching competencies, which was built for the teachers of the home economics subject at the University of Baghdad / College of Education for Girls.
2- There is a noticeable need among the teachers of the home economics subject to develop some aspects of sub-competencies, as not all of them are within the required level.
Recommendations: In light of the research findings, the following recommendations: 1- Approving the list of teaching competencies that have been built for teachers of the home economics subject in evaluating female teachers for the subject of home economics at the University of Baghdad / College of Education for Girls, and including it in the preparation programs for female teachers in the Ministry of Higher Education and Research 2- The necessity of reconsidering the curriculum for the home economics subject, in order to keep pace with the recent developments required for teachers of the home economics subject at the University of Baghdad / College of Education for Girls, which have been built
