During the nineteenth century, the Iraqi states that fell under the Ottoman control witnessed a remarkable foreign activity, which was attributed to the many advantages it enjoyed, especially the province of Mosul and its agricultural and animal wealth, which made it an important source for supplying these countries with some of their needs of agricultural and animal crops.

The state of Mosul is strategically important as it was a passageway for the commercial caravans that linked Persia and China on the one hand and the countries of Anatolia and the Levant on the other hand.

International interests, in the Wilayat of Mosul, to include the missionary activities carried out by the missionaries, as well as the diplomatic activity, which was then devoted to political interference in the affairs of Iraq.

The mandate of Mosul had a share of the English activity that had played a role in shaping the future English policy for them in Iraq.

The present study includes an introduction and four topics, including economic activity, missionary activity, archaeological activity, and diplomatic activity, as well as a conclusion.
