Tourism contributes to the development of the country's economy.

It is a source of income through the introduction of foreign capital, in addition to the development of other sectors such as the development of urbanization in the country by developing the road network, taking care of the tourist facilities and providing the tourists with the requirements of hotels, health clinics and commercial shops close to the tourism area.

Tourism also contributes to reviving the material situation of individuals by employing manpower and reducing unemployment by directing them to work in tourism services.

This is in addition to deepening the tourism awareness of citizens and achieving intellectual, cultural, spiritual and knowledge communication between different societies by attracting tourists from all countries, whether tourism is for religious or heritage purposes or to enjoy nature.

Consequently, tourism achieves positive economic, social, cultural and environmental impacts.

Iraq has good tourist potentials, but the neglect of tourist areas, the deterioration of services and the lack of interest in them, as well as the poor security situation led to the deterioration of this important economic resource, which weakened the tourist activity.

The research included the theoretical aspect by giving the concept of tourism, its types, importance and role in development issues.

The practical side included building and describing the standard model to study the impact of factors (wages, benefits, the number of tourist hotels, the number of tourists, number of employees, Tourism expenses) on tourism development represented by tourism revenues using the linear formula.

The results of the research showed the positive relationship between them.

Which matches the operative economic theory.
