This study aims at identifying the obstacles facing the teaching of the computer curriculum relating to devices, educational software, and school and classroom environment and specialization impact in secondary schools in Khartoum state through the perceptions of teachers.
The study followed descriptive method in which a questionnaire was administered to a random sample of 187 subjects, representing (20%) of the total study population selected from total population (926) in the academic year (2018/2019).
The findings of the study showed the existence of some obstacles relating to the computer equipment such the frequent of malfunction of these the high degree of disability related to the devices as in some of the computer applications, as well as the large number of damages, the lack of periodic maintenance of educational software, and the school and classroom environment.
Furthermore, the results of the study showed significant differences between the teachers’ views of on the teaching of computer science in favor of the teachers specialized in the teaching of the computer studies.
The study recommends that Ministry of Education should provide the necessary support to eliminate the physical and human obstacles, and offering training sessions to the schools principals on the ways to provide material and technical support in the school and the classroom environment.
