Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying some kinematic variables of the length of approaching step and their relationship with high jump to perform the smash skill in volleyball among Al-Hussein Ibn Talal University players.

The researcher used the descriptive approach due to its compatibility to the nature and objectives of the study.

The study sample consisted of (4) players.

The researcher used Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to find out the results in addition to Kenova software.

The study results showed that there are no statistically significant differences between the study variables except for the horizontal distance for the center of the body weight with the horizontal distance of jumping and landing.

The results revealed that there is a positive correlation relationship between the step distance with the step speed and the step time, as well as a positive correlation relationship between the horizontal distance of the center of the body weight with the height of the center of the body weight, of the back bend and the hip joint, while there is an inverse relationship between the step time and step speed as well as an inverse relationship between the jumping joint and the other variables, the results revealed that there is an inverse relationship between the approaching step and jumping up.

The researcher recommended the necessity of paying attention to the kinematic domains of the smash skill since it increases the performance efficiency.
