Economic psychology emerged at the beginning of the twentieth century at the hands of psychologists belonging to the school of cognitive psychology, Nevertheless, economic thought played a major role in the emergence of this science, Nevertheless, economic thought has a great role in the emergence of this science, as the writings of thinkers of economic schools (classical, marginal, and institutional) contain an analysis of economic phenomena based on psychological factors, thus providing an intellectual consolidation of many of the methods of economic psychology that were used later.

Because of the success and popularity of these psychological methods on the economic side, public policy makers have adopted many psychological methods in guiding individuals and influencing their behavior, especially (Self-awareness, Context Effect, Framing, and Empathy gap)
