Abstract EN

The empty phoneme was defined as the smallest verifiable sound unit in the pronunciation and hearing circuit and visible in the writing circle and it stopped giving morphemes grammatical or semantic values, and thus losing the function of differentiation and causing a gap of the agreed morpheme structure by the members of the linguistic community.

It is known to fall in the original situation.

In Arabic, it corresponds to the zero phoneme, which is known as the root of the situation.

The study sought to discover the empty phoneme following the analytical descriptive method in linguistic patterns that broke the language standards and were stored in the heritage books.

The study found that the empty phoneme described the native language at a stage of linguistic development relying on the descriptive writing that proved that Arabs follow the descriptive approach in studying language without theory for the method.

They give application more attention than theory.

The study also found that the empty phoneme can be classified as two types: the silent empty phoneme, the vowel empty phoneme.
