Abstract EN

This study aims at investigating organizational culture and its impact in job stress in five stars hotels in the city of Amman.

The study concentrated on four types of organizational cultures, which are coherence culture, innovation culture, market culture, and bureaucracy culture.

While job stress consisted of five dimensions which are job nature, role ambiguity, career development, physical environment and organizational environment.

This study was conducted on a sample of (300) workers.

The researcher obtained (211) valid questionnaires for analysis.

The study used some statistical methods, most notably the simple and multiple regression coefficient.

The results showed that the prevailing organizational culture in five stars hotels is the bureaucracy culture.

It also showed that the major reason for job stress is the lack of real opportunities for career development, and that organizational culture effects of job stress.

Major recommendation of the study is the need to give the five-star hotels in Amman a greater interest in activities to carry out their organizational activities within their various activities, and refrain from strict application of regulations, procedures and instructions as well as moving away from deepening bureaucratic practices and devising an organizational culture that contributes to the improvement and development of human cadres working in hotels.
