Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the impact of workplace bullying on Academic Staff performance: An applied study on the Jordanian private universities.

In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher designed a questionnaire, of (32) items.

The questionnaire was distributed to the academic staff in the Jordanian private universities, who were selected purposely.

The study population is composed of all 20 private universities in Jordan according to the annual statistical report issued by the Ministry of Higher Education in Jordan (2016).

The researcher also selected an objective sample that included the eight universities in the capital Amman.

The researcher used a set of statistical methods (such as Cronbach alphaand multiple linear regression) to analyze the study data, as well as the use of a matrix (Multicolinearity) to ensure that there is no high correlation between the independent variables.

The researcher tested the variance inflation factor and Tolerance test for each independent variable.

(300) questionnaires were distributed.

The number of valid questionnaires for analysis is (275) with response rate (93%) from the distributed questionnaires and (93%) from received questionnaires.

Moreover, the results indicate that there is a negative impact of workplace bullying on academic staff performance in the Jordanian private universities.

The study recommended the need to provide the appropriate organizational and administrative environment for Academic Staff performance by following a number of motivational tools and incentives such as physical and oral incentives that encourage faculty members in Jordanian private universities to raise their performance levels.
