The term overlap is a part of the semotic theory reveal the textual meaning by moving from surface level to deep level , contemporary algerian semiotic criticism presents its own reading which refer to each reader according to his concept about overlap , and this concept is combining between western and eastern lesson and its manifestation in the arabic substraction from the old tradition .

The interest of this study coming from following this concept in the practice of contemporary algerian criticism, and by introducing it and giving a clear sight about it, by using description and analysis, then we try to answer about the following question :how can the algerian semiotic practices read the concept of overlap.?
