Too long eccentric and marginalized in relationb to the society for which it should work primary, the Algerian university, found itself due to the suddenness and the magnitude of the Covid-19 pandemic, very destitude, almost without means and without strategies to deal with il.
His total dependance on supervision in the decision-making for solidarity networking, the mobilization of his staffand students, scientific expertise, the proposal of solutions and in his own support period, really disqualified him.
In fact, we were interested in the possible operating methods of this institutions, e real social locomotive in times of crisis, especially health crises, such as we know by calling on teachers, students and administrative officials at two large universities: Algiers 2 and Constantine 2 and a few health professionals- doctors and psychologists.
The results plead for the revisions of its intellectual paradigms and its missions.

Trop longtemps excentrée et marginalisée par rapport à la société pour laquelle elle devrait œuvrer au premier chef, l'université algérienne, s'est retrouvée de par la soudaineté et l'ampleur de la pandémie de la Covid 19, fort dépourvue, quasiment sans moyens et sans stratégies pour y faire face.
Sa totale dépendance de la tutelle dans la prise de décision pour le maillage solidaire, la mobilisation de son personnel et de ses étudiants, l'expertise scientifique, la proposition de solutions et dans sa propre prise en charge tout court, l'a vraiment disqualifié.
Constat fait, nous nous sommes intéressés aux possibles modalités de fonctionnement de cette institution véritable locomotive sociale en périodes de crises, surtout sanitaires, telle que nous connaissons en interpellant enseignants, étudiants et responsables administratifs auprès de deux grandes universités: Alger 2 et Constantine 2 et quelques professionnels de la santé-médecins et psychologues.
Les résultats plaident pour la révision de ses paradigmes intellectuels et de ses missions.
