Abd al-Rahman al-Kawakibi is considered one of the most important figures that the Islamic world knew during the 19th century AD, as he lived through the days of weakness and division in the Islamic world.

He studied various sciences that existed in that period and was educated by the culture of his time, the diversity of knowledge he received contributed to making him a scholar and thinker with a future view of the Islamic world, as he put forward a project or proposal in his book Umm Al-Qura aiming to achieve Islamic union.

This proposal is an imaginary meeting that was held in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, bringing together the best Muslims and scholars from all Islamic countries, to discuss problems and find solutions through shura.This meeting came out with a solutionthat lies in the unification of the Islamic countries by reviving the religious caliphate in the Arab countries.
