Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the level of application of the principles of governance and its role in achieving quality standards in higher education institutions, The study is based on the Case study approach through a survey of a sample of 54 teachers affiliated to the Department of Human Sciences at the University of Blida 2 – Lounici Ali- by distributing an electronic questionnaire from October to December 2020.

The study has led to a set of results, the most important of which is that the level of application of the principles of governance in the sample university was average.

Where the application of the principle of independence was limited to the pedagogical aspect, and there is a weakness in the level of participation of stakeholders in decision-making, with a weak practice of transparency, which reflected negatively on the achievement of accountability and performance evaluation and thus the failure to achieve quality standards.
