This artical discusses the problematic of comparative literature Method of the American critic “ Rene wellek”, for he can be considered as the first to revolt against the positivistic method of comparative literature.

“Wellek” proposes his alternative method for the historical positivistic one, which is the critical method, we can notice that this method must provide two conditions: the critic studies must be a scientific as well as objective one.

And the comparative critical practice must be related with the domains of the literary history and the literature theory.
