Abstract EN

This article looks for defining Cognitive Linguistics, which is a linguistic model representing a new cognitive field.

It emerged in West (The US), throughout the 7th decade of the 20th century, and it has widely proliferated.

It is unique in terms of combining both language and knowledge.

It also deals with describing the speakers' cognitive abilities like argumentation, comprehension, intelligence, and imagination.

It focuses on the speaker's mind, when he communicates through language.

Therefore, it surpasses the language structural form to its comprehensive images' depths (the human brain).

Thus, this research paper aims at reviewing the concept of Cognitive Linguistics, its establishing circumstances, its emergence, and the circumstances of the Arab researchers' reception.
