This study aims to clarify the construction of semantics through one popular proverb as a narrative discourse, and to highlight the role of semiotic analysis in the process of semantic generation in the context or the case.

It also aims to apply the findings of modern semiology in revealing and generating meanings.

The study shows the popular proverb as a literary genre that hides a narrative text behind it, which justifies the possibilities of its study within the context of the semiotics of narration at its three levels: narrative, discursive, and logical.
