This afternoon is characterized by the abundance of wars and armed conflicts in which all internationally banned weapons are used, which leave millions of victims, and therefore resort to international humanitarian law that governs and regulates the conduct of hostilities and ensures the protection of civilian parties and the question is what are the sources of this humanitarian law and what is the role of the United Nations in enforcing it? We come to the conclusion that it is international humanitarian law that regulates war, and its most important challenge facing the United Nations is sovereignty, the proliferation of armed conflicts, nuclear weapons and refugees, and here highlights the role of the United Nations in revitalizing international and diplomatic cooperation and enforcing international humanitarian law before and after armed conflict.
