Abdellah Cheriet repeats Ibn Khaldun's position in his criticism of Ibn Rushd and Al-Farabi in order to criticize contemporary Algerian discourse.

Abdellah Cheriet notes that Al-Farabi and Ibn Rushd were influenced by the thought of Plato and Aristotle.

That is why they did not innovate.

Therefore, in Abdellah Cheriet belief, if any Algerian social project wants to set its foot in the Renaissance, it must be liberated from the captivity of Western intellectual models and from imported methodologies and thinking about the real present with local tools, as Ibn Khaldun did
