but also they had social, political, economic and scientific ones.

They were also concerned with customs and rituals related to death including the words which most of them indicated lessons and wisdoms.

Accordingly, this study entitled the Commandments and Orientations of Al-Hadith Scholars upon death in Iraq during the First and Second Centuries A.

H.

focuses on those commandments of hadith scholars in Iraq and the extent of their impact on the Iraqi society during that period.

The study consists of an introduction, two sections and a conclusion.

The first section entitled the concept of the commandment and its legitimacy in Islam and its historical roots, and types of commandments.

The second explores the most important religious, educational, and financial commandments, and what is related to their books, as well as Al-Hadith Scholars' customs, rituals, and graves and the extent of their impact on society.
