Abstract EN

Reference was made in this study to thereality of tourism movement and its obstaclesin the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, andone of its most important objectives was toanalyze the spatial variation of tourist attractionin the governorates of the region، And to identify the nationality of tourists interms of their places of arrival and to knowthe most important obstacles facing thetourism movement in order to develop andmaintain the tourism sector in the studyarea, and to develop appropriate solutionsto the problems faced by the tourism sectorin the Kurdistan Region so that these solutionswill help the Tourism Authority in theregion and planners in the future.

In order to reach the goal of research andinvestigation from a hypothesis, the researchwas divided into three axes.

The firstaxis dealt with the concept of tourist andtourism with a historical overview of thetourism movement in the Kurdistan Region، As for the second, it studied the factorsand causes of the variation in tourismmovement in the Kurdistan Region, whilethe third axis reviewed the spatial variationof the tourism indicators in the KurdistanRegion - Iraq, and the fourth dealt withthe analysis of the obstacles to tourismmovement in the Kurdistan Region - Iraq.

Among the most important results that theresearcher reached, the Kurdistan Regionhas a variety of natural and human tourismpotentials.

In addition, there is a major rolefor the media on the tourism sector, as theNalia Arabic Radio (NRT) has affected thepromotion of the city of Games )Javi Land(in Sulaymaniyah Governorate.
