The problem of this research appears in that it revolves around determining the role of values in controlling family relations as the basis of family stability and cohesion, and any defect that affects this relationship, it reflects negatively on the children and the family structure, and the aim of the research is to identify the importance of social control in preserving societal values, and to identify the nature of awareness of the change in values in terms of its factors, manifestations and consequences on the Iraqi family, and this research is considered a descriptive and analytical research, and in line with the current research, and its objectives, the method of social survey was used in the sample, and the spatial area was determined in the city of Diwaniyah, and thus the sample of this the research is an intended sample of 153 between a lawyer, an employee, a teacher and a teacher, and the researcher relied in this research on a main tool, which is the questionnaire form, which was applied to an intentional sample from the research community, and the researcher chose a sample of 153 individuals on the basis of age, marital status and work, and among the most important conclusions the research indicates that the majority of the respondents in the research sample are men, and according to the importance of applying social control in the research community, the spirit of cooperation and affection in society came to be ruled by the spirit of cooperation and affection in society, and then correcting mistakes and violations b a friendly way, promotion of good behaviors in society, tolerance for mistakes and violations made by others, and for the importance of the factors that led to the change in values, a variable came about as a result of openness to the outside world, and then the technological development of the media, and that changes in values led to new problems, they reported all of them are that these new values in society or have found many new problems, and among the reasons for the influence of the media on the value change is that the presentation of series and films that are not in line with societal values is one of the reasons for the influence of the media on values, and the research came out with a number of recommendations, the most important of which should be concerned with institutions society with values and works to deepen them among children and youth so that positive values deepen in the souls of community members, which works on the continuity and cohesion of society, and directs various media outlets to highlight the importance of social control for the individual and society, and focus on modern and different media as they address the preservation of community values in the programs that exposing it, taking advantage of the achievements of scientific progress and the technological and communication revolution and trying to avoid its negative aspects through awareness of the future.
