Abstract EN

This research paper aims through an analytical study to describe the reality of higher education in Algeria in light of competencies that professors find importance in applying, through identifying the most prominent ones in terms of personal characteristics, human relation, as well as pedagogical practices, and evaluating in addition to the selection criteria in employment.

To achieve this goal, a questionnaire was designed in a triplet scale (very important, important, not important), and after the questioning of a sample of the professors of the university of Saleh Boubnider Constantine, the study results reflected the appreciation of most professors for the importance of applying pedagogical competencies, especially those that determine the level of educational attainment and output generally as a method of teaching and evaluation practices, considering their effective role in the advancement of university education.
