Countries around the world have taken care to encourage and support women by implementing the quota system as a means of empowering and increasing its representation on elected councils.

Algeria has not departed from this approach where the constitutional founder having taken the initiative to enshrine the political rights of women by broadening the chances of her representation in elected councils with the constitutional amendment of the year 2008 and the promulgation of the two organic laws 12-03 and 12-04 defining the modalities of this enlargement.
