Single-subject design is a type of quasi-experimental design that is particularly needed for the scientific analysis of professional social work.

The current paper presents the results of a field experiment with a single elderly client, who was behaving inappropriately during group activities.

In the experiment, positive reinforcement was successfully utilized to change the client's behavior, and single-subject design was used to evalu¬ate the results of the experiment.

The results were analyzed using quan¬titative techniques, including statistical tests, as well as qualitative tech¬niques.
