The interpreters’ approaches have varied in explaining the meanings of revelation and its interpretation, and they varied between the tradition and the opinion, and with this multiplicity a scientific wealth of various sources and aspects were formed, from which scholars and commentators in every discipline benefited.

Tafsir al-Mawardi was one of the most important of these various interpretations of sources.

It included each of the aspects known to the exegetes, and added many additions to it in various aspects of opinion, and it was an indispensable reference for scholars of the Noble Qur’an.

The importance of the additions provided by Al-Mawardi is evident in the cognitive value it contains, as it reveals new meanings in the interpretation of the Noble Qur’an, and includes important insights into clarifying meanings and clarifying Qur’anic methods, which gives this interpretation an epistemological value and scientific importance among other interpretations.

Al-Mawardi’s additions were based on a precise scientific methodology in all of his additions, following a sober method in stating his views and presenting his ideas, relying on the principles of interpretation from the maxim of the Prophet and his companions and his followers, using the sciences of the Noble Qur’an, language, literature and jurisprudence.

These visions contained many benefits from the Mawardi, between explaining the meaning and explanation of a singular, preferring an opinion and clarifying an idea, which made this interpretation a reliable reference for scholars and interpreters of the Holy Qur’an.

In this research, the researcher tried to uncover the additions of al-Mawardi in his interpretation, explain the scientific method he followed, and clarify the cognitive value that these additions contain, in two surahs of the Holy Qur’an, namely (Al-Majadalah and Al-Hashar).
