A range of moderate Orientalist writings appeared that showed the effect of Islam on the reform movements in Judaism.

It is not surprising that the reform movements returned to Islam, and some aspects of their legislations were affected by Islam.

Islam is the religion that Allah approved of all people.

One of the requirements of the domination of the Book of Allah Almighty was that this Book came to rule and watch the books before it, and to indicate what happened in them in terms of distortion, forgery and alteration.

So this statement and the criticism the Qur’an shows had an impact on the emergence of critical reform movements for the holy books of the Jews and Christians.

The Islamic impact was evident in the reform principles advocated by a number of reform pioneers in Judaism, such as: “Sa`dia Al-Fayoumi”, “Musa bin Maimon” and “Anan Bin Dawood,” the founder of the Qara’in sect.

The Islamic impact transcended the Jewish reform movements to the Christian ones.

The details of this came in the folds of the research in several aspects, the most prominent of which are: Presenting the fields of cultural contact between Muslims and Jews, which proved to be an influential means of transmitting these influences, then explaining the manifestations of the Islamic impact on the pioneers of the Jewish reform movements, which was evident in the calls of a number of reform pioneers in Judaism.

The effect went beyond that, to the legislation of the Jewish groups such as the Qara’i group.

The third aspect covers the Islamic impact on the reformist approach of criticizing the (holy) books.
