Abstract EN

The present study aimed to find out the relationship between emotional intelligence and some personality traits (self-esteem) among undergraduate students in the municipality of Tobruk, Libya.

The researcher followed the descriptive correlative approach to know the relationship between his study variables College of literature and Sciences Tobruk where the study population reached 460 students.

This study reached the following results: There is a relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressive attribute isa positive correlation and there are differences between males and females in the variables of emotional intelligence also there are differences between the students of the first year and the fourth year students in the emotional intelligence variable, and there's differences found in students of scientific and literature specialization.
