One o f the most important findings is that terminological metaphor plays an important role in translating medical compound terms from French into Arabic, whether through generation, without foreign terms' semantic and morphologic influence, or through semantic borrowing which requires calquing both the morphologic and semantic features of foreign terms, or only the semantic ones.

Moreover, it opens the door wide for terminologists and translators to dig out the linguistic heritage and enrich the medical jargon.
