Abstract EN

Cognitive linguistics is interested in the study of language as a cognitive concept and thus, it focuses on how things happen inside the mind where the linguistic and non-linguistic ones overlap.

In this paper, we aim at approaching the concept of meaning in terms of its production, deconstruction and reception.

We started from some important terms and procedures in the field of cognitive linguistics; such as, the cognitive concept of meaning, the relation between meaning and human general cognitive ability, its relation with the person's cognitive structure, the issue of metaphor as a manifestation to the mental cognitive ability to build new concepts and the concept of discourse as cognitive structure.
