Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the effect of rumors on social media on the intellectual security of youth, The study used the descriptive approach, specifically the sample survey.

The survey was conducted on a purposive sample of (200), 18 to22 - year- old- distributed equally between males and females at the rate of 100 items each The study concluded to: that health rumors ranked first with 36% , followed by social rumors by 28.5% .

Weakness in ideological belongingness came in the first place followed, by loyalty and national belongingness in second place and finally in third place after participation and social responsibility.

and there are no statistically significant differences between male and female, in the effect of
rumors on intellectual security, there are no statistically significant differences between youth (living in rural and urban areas) in the effect of rumors on intellectual security.
