The signing of the peace agreement between the U.S and the Taliban to end nearly two decades of conflict, in Doha on 29 February 2020, which provided a full U.S.

withdrawal within 14 months, sparked hope among the Afghans for the reconciliation of all Afghan forces to reach peace.

However, what is seen as a victory for Pakistani policy and the Taliban, still challenging the other neighbors of Afghanistan, who fear that it could impede their interests in the country.

This could trigger proxy wars that could exploit ethnic and sectarian diversity.

This paper attempts to explore the most important positions on the agreement and its future effects on Afghanistan and the region, under the withdrawal policy of the Trump administration.
