This article addresses problems between the German Youth Bureau (Jugendamt), families of Turkish origin, and migrant children.

The numbers of Turkish and Muslim migrant children, placed under the protection of the Jugendamt, are increasing daily.

There has been a steady increase in the number of such minors since 2015 after Germany received minors fleeing the war in Syria.

The number of minors who entered Germany without their parents in 2013 reached about 6,000 and increased to 40,000 in 2015.

These figures do not reflect the exact number of migrant minors who have been placed under the protection of Jugendamt or given to foster families, given that the majority of migrant children living in Germany - ^ have dual citizenship and registered as German citizens in the statistics.
