Abstract EN

The present study investigates the image of Jenin city in Burhan al-Din al-Aboushi’s poetry in his Diwan “Jabal al-Nar” ( Mountain of Fire) based on three areas: First, it provides a brief background of the poet’s life, his struggle, his travels and movements.

Then, the study moves on to shed light on how he describes Jenin city and its fight against the brokers who conspired with the Zionist occupation to sell the Palestinian territories.

After this, the way was paved for Zionist settlement to expand across “Marj Ibn Amir” plain.

The study also addresses the characteristics of the Arab nationalism in al-Aboushi›s poetry and the implications of his praise of his Arab brothers - the Iraqi people in particular.

The people with whom the poet spent most of his alienation.

Besides, they were known to play a heroic role in defending Jenin.

In addition to that, the study discussed his longing and nostalgia in which he expressed his attachment to Jenin and its plain after he was forced to leave it because of the Zionist occupation.

He was constantly incited to resistance and struggling for the liberation of the country.

The study has concluded that Jenin was wellmanifested in al-Aboushi›s poetry with its religious and poetic sacredness.

The study adopts the descriptive approach when discussing the main points.

It describes Jenin and its plain in the poet›s diwan «Jabal al-Nar» (Mountain of Fire ) and analyzes the artistic characteristics and the linguistic styles used in the poems of this diwan.
