Abstract EN

The aim of this research is to address verbal violence against married women (15 years and over), which is practiced by the husband in the province of Qadisiyah.The research data were based on the field study for (2018).

The research reached a number of results, the most important of which is that (34.4%) of the women are not exposed to verbal violence compared to (65.6%) are exposed to it in different proportions .The percentage of women who are constantly exposed to verbal violence (often and always) (43 , 7%) which is high.

The research found that the types of verbal violence experienced by married women were in varying proportions (cursing and insulting) came first (95.8%) of the total married women .The research showed that there are spatial differences in the level of administrative units in the province in terms of The practice of verbal violence in the Nihas of (Sunni, Bedair, Sumer, Mahnawiya and Salahiya) came first in terms of violence (cursing, insulting, screaming, vows to marry another woman) in the rate of (100%).

The research also showed that the phenomenon of verbal violence against wives is frequent in the province was (23%) of wives are subjected to violence on a daily basis.

There are several factors and motives for the practice of this violence of wives, the most important difference in the educational, social and economic level between the spouses as well as age difference, excessive use of mobile and type of housing and characteristics and characteristics of both women and men.
