International crimes are among the issues that have preoccupied humanity in many regions of the world, as they affect the interests of society and affect human values and principles, and racial discrimination is classified as one of the most heinous crimes committed against human beings.

As humanity develops towards respecting human rights, dignity and fundamental freedoms, the crime of racial discrimination has become prohibited.

That the term apartheid was used for the first time in 1944, by the President and Minister of the Republic of South Africa, at a time when racial discrimination was widespread between whites and different ethnic groups.

International law criminalizes racial discrimination in general international conventions, and created international mechanisms to prevent the commission of this crime, in addition to regional charters and national laws to protect human rights, dignity and fundamental freedoms by prosecuting and punishing the perpetrators of such crimes, and that this protection varies from one country to another based on the degree of progress The legal and civilizational development of society, in addition to other political, economic, social and cultural factors.
