Abstract EN

This research deals with Muhammad Shahrour's contemporary reading of Qur'an through the issue of women's dress.

As he considers it as a social behavior, not a religious obligation; making the woman exposed in front of the incest and a nudity in front of society.

Therefore, there were two main restrictions: covering low pockets minimum and maximum covering the entire body except for the face and the hands.

This research also deals with the foundations and methodological controls which Shahrour makes use of while making his contemporary reading, which lies in: distinguishing between Qur'anic verses; denying revelation from the noble prophetic Sunnah; underestimating the productions of Muslim scholars and jurists, despising the importance of Islamic law and language in understanding revelation; and finally being fascinated by Western science and modern curricula.
