Abstract EN

This paper aims to examine the phenomenon of pro-poor growth in Algeria by measuring the effect of the growth rate, the unemployment rate and also the rate of inequality, on the poverty rate during the period 1988 - 2017 (annual data).

Using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag Model (ARDL), the study found that there was a positive relationship between both the Gini coefficient and the unemployment rate with the poverty rate, and a negative relationship between the growth rate and the poverty rate in the long run, which is in accordance with pro-poor growth in Algeria.
