The study focuses on revealing the main connotations of place in the poetry of Hamed Abdul Samad Al-Basri through analyzing the spatial structure in all its levels (objective - real - imagined) in the general poetic product of the poet’s experience by monitoring the aesthetic, social and psychological dimensions carried by the main significance system, in which the images are organized and interact with each other to form a poetic phenomenon that has its own influential and aesthetic levels in poetic discourse by the poet, and through a comprehensive extrapolation of his poetic works and linking them to place references, we revealed four main dominant connotations of place in his poetry, the most prominent of which are the significance of position, identity, poetic and temporal connotation of the place, and these spatial patterns were able to embody the poet’s love for the place as well as its representation of the semantic content dimensions of the texts.
