Abstract EN

This research aims to explore the author's presence within historical narration (historical novel) or the novel that is based on history in its events, and it suggests the hypothesis that an author is present within his / her text in one way or another and provide with his / her vision toward life and universe through this presence, hence for a critic who researches this topic , he / she must explain this presence by as it is a part of critical practice when reading the novel work culturally , so the research suggests principles to explore the writer-self within the historical novel.

Among these principles, space, characters, and language references and the research will attempt to answer its questions through identifying the historical novel with application on al-Qurmiyyah novel for the novelist Samiha Khrais, and this novel covers the events of the great Arab revolution and is based on both the verbal and written history about the revolution in addition to including the imaginative element as will be shown through the research.
