The study aimd to reveal the inclusion level critical reading skills for the upper basic stage.
It also aimed to reveal its sequence level, and its integration in Arabic language text books.
By using descriptive approach (content analysis).
The study tried to access to the list of critical reading skills which are Preferably contained in the text books of Arabic language for the upper basic stage.
To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepeared analysis tool (critical reading skills) and found clues of the tool's reliability and validity.
The study used descriptive approach to analyze Arabic text books in the upper basic stage.
The study focused on meaningful sentence as a unit to analysis of the content the text books .
According to the nature of the study and its objective.
The researcher used repetitions percentages and chi-square test in the procedures of analyzing the study data as statistics which are able to answer their question.
The study revealed the following results:.
The sample of the study of Arabic language text books includes (1195) repetition for the critical reading skills, which are, (345) repetition of the critical reading skills in the eighth grade, and (418) repetition of critical reading skills in the ninth grade.
Came in the 3rd place of the critical reading skills in the 10th grade (432) repetition.
The study also revealed that there is a difference in the percentage of the inclusion of the critical reading skills in the Arabic text books in the upper basic stage.
The results of the study also showed that there are no statistical difference (0.05=α) in the integration level of the critical reading skills between Arabic text books(8th 9th 10th ) in the upper basic stage.
