Abstract EN

This research is devoted to the study of one of the castles located on the pilgrimage route in the Jordanian desert, presented the names that the castle carried over the ages.

It gave accounts of historians and travelers who passed through and documented information about it.

The methodology of the research required that it be twofold, one of which is for historical material and what is related to it, and the second part is for a field description after several visits by the researcher to the castle and document its condition at the time of the visit and record its measurements.

Then the research discussed the differences in the fact that this building is it castle, place, or Khan, and concluded that it is a fortified castle that the Ottomans established on the pilgrimage route to control security.

The research showed the stages of the existence of this castle, construction, restoration and maintenance, and materials used in construction, and studied the architectural elements of the castle and its technical features.

Perhaps one of the most important things the researcher did was he published a report on the castle issued by an Ottoman committee in the nineteenth century.

The researcher made several recommendations to preserve the castle, identify it and save it from collapse.

The researcher supported his research with several plans and pictures documenting the state of the castle.
