The most important risks to endangered animals in Sub-Saharan Africa is trafficking; the effects of such trafficking include environmental, social and economic impacts, it is also an obstacle to sustainable development.

This involves a complex mix of weak environmental management, unregulated trade and gaps, and laundry systems used to carry out serious transnational crime, and legitimate trade, this requires the development of an appropriate strategy for the protection of wild animals, especially threatened by extinction through laws regulating fishing, and preventing their trade.
