Our research deals with the role of religion in achieving power, where it came from and how it originated, the role of religion in controlling and maintaining society, whether the religious system is the center of the social system, whether all other social systems, including the political system, are related to and derived from religion (by its laws and authority) in some way, and whether it is true that religious authority drives society, determines its paths and trends, and shapes the features of its culture and social identity through its ideological and legislative system, with its values, principles and moral and human virtues.

Contrary to Karl Marx's idea, "society can be seen as a form of interlocking parts in which the economy forms all the other parts".

All these questions appeared to the researcher after the Anglo- American occupation of Iraq in 2003, as it resulted in several social phenomena dangerous to the life of Iraqi society, the most important and most obvious of which is the collapse of the state and its affiliated institutions, but the (religious institution) is the only one that withstood and maintained the society and its control, and people began to turn to it and trust and believe in it until it became the authority of society, and played an important role in maintaining the society and all things are going on in it in addition to its religious role.
