Abstract EN

The consolidation of Algeria's market economy system and the adoption of a policy of economic openness have led to a series of economic, structural and legal reforms that embody the new direction of the state.

This new direction relies on competition as a tool for managing the economy openly through the 95/06 competition order.

This consolidation was carried out by the state abandoning its traditional role in managing and eliminating the public monopoly of most economic activities, which resulted in the emergence of legal branches that frame the policy of this openness.

In particular, we mention the Economic Control Law, which is the subject of our study with its new mechanisms that aim to protect competition in the market.

These mechanisms are represented in the Competition Council as a horizontal control authority in the market as a whole, as well as Sectoral Control Bodies as a vertical control authority specializing in the protection of competition within its supervisory sectors.
