In light of the increasing phenomenon of marital violence in Algeria in its various forms, the criminal legislator had to confront the elimination of the spread of this crime, and for this he enacted a set of laws, especially those contained in the amendment of the penal code by law 15/19 dated December 30, 2015 where he tightened the penalties for the husband who practices violence against his wife, whether it is physical, verbal or psychological violence, and the aim of this amendment was to seek to limit the growth of this dangerous phenomenon and to preserve the marital bond
