The study aimed to identify the strengths and weaknesses in the Islamic education subject textbook for the fourth intermediate grade of the new curriculum in Somalia.

the researcher followed the descriptive approach, and used the content analysis criteria as a tool to analyze content one of the most important findings of the study is that the book does not have objectives at the beginning of each unit, and the goals vary to some extent in their levels of knowledge and derived from the general goals of the Somali community.

as for the content, the topics of the book do not fit with the number of periods prescribed in the scheme of work, and the content depends on Islamic sources.

the content of the book is free from excessive fillers.
