Abstract EN

The study aimed at finding out the psychological stress that face by the school principals in the capital Amman governorate.

the study was conducted on a sample of (46) school principals in the capital Amman governorate.

the study adopted the descriptive methodology.

to achieve the objective of the study, a measure of psychological stress was developed after reviewing theoretical literature and previous studies.

indications of validity and reliability were extracted for the scale items.

the results indicated that the level of psychological stress and its dimensions among school principals was medium.

there were significant differences between the means of psychological stress of school principals due to the sex variable, and in favor of females, as for ways of school principals to face psychological stress, the researcher found that the answer to this question was to present proposals of educational for mulation as an opportunity for school principals, such as allowing school principals to develop their professional competences, raise the level of income to improve living conditions, establishing principles and standards for selecting school principals who have the ability to face difficulties, stress, assume responsibility and avoid interference in the competencies of officials in administrative work between departments, supervisory authorities and school administration, reduce the routine in the performance of work, and provide capabilities for the success of the administrative role of the principal and hold courses and training workshops for school principals.
