Abstract EN

Contemporary researches on Arabic literature had developed and originated from two main sources.

The first source is the traditional linguistic and literary Arabic heritage and the second one is western researches and schools of thought.

It is common knowledge that narrative studies are used in poetry, but fictional poetry constitutes most of these studies, as it contains stories, and the poet seeks to advance his poetic objectives by mentioning these stories.

This study examines the ode, The Will to Live, by Abu Al-Qāsem Al-Shābī, the famous Tunisian poet.

We found clues of hidden stories or narratives that contain simple dialogues.

In this narratological study, ode title, ode presentation, repetition, and two important elements of time and place and their different types are examined.

Three types of place were examined, which include mental place, symbolic place, and indefinite place.

Among the results of the study is that the poet has been able to create a narrative congruence between the ode title and its presentation.

Indefinite place was employed more than the other types of place.
