Ideology of terrorism’s threat : the factors of Malaysian community that involved in Daesh

Abstract EN

Dawla al-Islamiya al-Iraq wa al-Sham (Daesh) is a new terrorist movement recently known in this millennium.

It is a threat for today's generation especially in Malaysia.

the problem of this study is the involvement of Malaysian society in this terrorist group should be taken seriously as it is a threat to the country.

the increase in the number of involvement with the number of arrests is different and brings concern to Malaysia.

therefore, the study was written to examine the factors that led the people in Malaysia to be involved with this Daesh group.

these factors need to be taken seriously before the state become chaotic.

the metadology of this study is a qualitative method and the data collection instrument used is document analysis.

Document analysis is derived from books, Dabiq and Rumiyah magazines, articles and journals related to the movement of the Daesh’s group.

The finding shows that the misconceptions of the jihad concept, mass media as a propaganda tool and ideological attraction are among the factors of involvement of Malaysians in the Daesh’s group.

hence, all parties need to play their part in addressing this problem.
