Abstract EN

The objective of this study was to achieving effectiveness of counseling program based on narrative exposure therapy in reducing symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in a sample of torture.

the study sample consisted of (30) men victims of torture from Syria and Iraq who were suffer of (PTSD) for Noor al-Hussein foundation, the researcher used a semi-experimental approach for two groups witch randomly and equally of the study sample, (15) men each group, one of the two groups was a control and the other is experimental.

a (PTSD) scale applied for the experimental group only contained two stander (pre & post), a month after the program was completed, and the scale was applied to the experimental in a follow-up measure.

the results also showed significant differenees between the experimental and control group on (PTSD) scale in favor of the experimental group that had decreased symptoms of the dysfunction, and the improvement continues after a month of treatment, which indicates for the effectiveness of the applied therapeutic program.
